The IX South American Congress of the Paleopathology Association (PAMinSA) will take place between August 9 and 11, 2023 in Cochabamba, Bolivia. The participation of guests and exhibitors interested in being part of this event is planned in the following modalities: keynote talks, symposiums, presentations and posters. These modalities will allow reflection around the different thematic axes proposed. The central theme “Climate Events, environmental changes, mobility and health in antiquity” will address the environmental crisis from a bioarchaeological perspective, reflecting on the impacts of prehistoric climatic events to the present day, their effects, the emergencies and reemergences of pathologies, epidemics and historical pandemics.

All abstracts will be evaluated by the scientific committee. Once accepted, they will be included in the program and later published in a special volume of the International Journal of Paleopathology (Elsevier).

During the event, all presentations must be made in English or Spanish, while abstracts must be submitted in both languages. It is recommended that presentations in English be accompanied by slides in Spanish and vice versa.
